Bored farmers

I collect photos of all kinds for sketching and inspiration. Not really sure where I found this or what’s going on, but I thought the image was compelling.

Sketching with a permanent line and no erasing can produce some interesting effects. The photo wasn’t shot with a fish eye lens, but my sketch came out that way.

Trainspotting

So I got this new sketchbook the other day. It’s lightweight paper and a lot of it, my goal with this one has been to just fill it as quickly as I can. I have a tendency to get too consumed with details and trying to make things perfect even with a sketch, which prevents me from getting enough practice in. So with this sketchbook I’ve been skipping the pencil and starting out with ink right off the bat.

I sketch with the gray ink side of the Kuretake double-sided brush pen first, then I fill in more details with the black ink.

Oh yeah, Trainspotting is a sweet movie.
