Michelle, Meko and I just went to visit my Mom in Saranac Lake during the peak fall colors in the Adirondacks. It was a lot of fun, even though it was cold at times and we had our best weather on the day we drove back. I still managed to take 400 pictures, which I narrowed down to a light 150, and then narrowed down again to what I think are the best ones to keep this post relatively short. So here we go.
The following photos are from the summit and around Baxter Mountain just outside of Keene, NY.
Nope that’s not a fox, that’s Meko, our 2 year old Shiba Inu. Click here to get a better view of her badass harness for hiking, it has a handle so we can lift her over large obstacles.

These next few are from Copper Rock Falls and the surrounding area near Cranberry Lake.
Just up the river from Copper Rock Falls is Rainbow Falls, which the next group pictures are from (and the trail leading to it).
It was kind of scary standing where I was for this one:

And now we go up the river a little more to Bulkhead Falls.
The next few photos are from our canoe trip up Bog River to Hitchen’s Pond.
After canoeing to Hitchen’s Pond, we climbed a small mountain called Low’s Ridge. The winding river you can see in the top of the next photo is what we had just paddled.
And that was essentially our trip. If you’re interested in seeing more photos, the whole batch is on my flickr account, located here. Thanks for visiting!
