No reference figure drawings

I’ve  been wanting to do some figure drawing lately and for a little while I couldn’t find any classes near me. I recently did find one but before that I started doing these drawings with no reference as practice. The ‘cylinder & cube’ technique I use is from “How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way” by  Stan Lee and John Buscema. I got this book when I was pretty young and never really embraced it. It wasn’t until recently that I saw it popping up on a few blogs as a highly recommended instructional book so I checked it out again. I definitely recommend it for learning how to draw the human figure with no reference.

Sketches from the Adirondacks

These are the first two sketches in my new molskine watercolor sketchbook, done while visiting my mother in August. I need to be doing these more often as my watercolor skills are quite rusty.

Done with a Faber Castell Pitt brush pen, the smallest watercolor set I could find, and a water brush.
